Hydrate-80 is a rust converter and barrier system for rusted steel surfaces. It works electrochemically to stabilise existing corrosion, transforming iron oxides into a protective metal complex while combining with surface moisture and oxygen so corrosion no longer has the conditions it needs.

Usage

1. Mechanically remove loose flaking rust and paint with a wire brush or sanding without taking the surface back to bright metal.
2. Clean off oil, grease, dirt and salt and let the surface dry.
3. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
4. Apply Hydrate-80 generously with a brush, roller or lint-free cloth, working it into the rust.
5. Watch the coating react with iron oxides, turning from milky white to a dark blue or black colour, typically within about 20 to 40 minutes.
6. Apply a second coat once the first has changed colour and dried, around 1 hour later; expect about 24 to 48 hours for full chemical cure.
7. After full cure, overcoat with conventional primers and paints or compatible Bilt Hamber wax products for long-term protection.
