Rinseless Wash Dilution Chart

A rinseless wash cleans with high-lubricity polymers so you can wipe a lightly-soiled car clean without a hose — ideal for flats, winter, or water restrictions. The catch is the dilution: too strong wastes product, too weak loses lubricity and risks marring. Most rinseless washes mix around 1:128–1:256 for a full wash, with stronger ratios for spot-cleaning or use as a clay lube / quick detailer. The chart below lists rinseless products with their maker ratios.

FAQ

What dilution should I use for a rinseless wash?

Follow the maker ratio in the table — typically around 1:128–1:256 for a full wash. Use a stronger mix (lower number) for heavier soil or spot-cleaning, and a weaker mix or dedicated lube for clay work.

Is a rinseless wash safe — won't it scratch?

Used correctly it's safe: pre-soak heavy areas, use plenty of lubrication, a clean plush mitt and the one-towel-per-panel approach. Don't rinseless-wash a heavily caked, gritty car — pre-rinse or foam that first.
