Paint swirls often result from re-contaminating a wash mitt in a dirty bucket. The Original Grit Guard is a raised radial-grid insert for the base of a standard 5 gallon bucket. Dragging the mitt across the grid dislodges trapped dirt, which then sinks below the grid and stays there, keeping your wash water cleaner throughout the session. Stacking two Grit Guards raises the grid higher, adding separation between the clean water above and settled sediment below.

Usage

  1. Place the Grit Guard flat on the bottom of your wash or rinse bucket.
  2. Optionally stack a second Grit Guard on top for greater separation between clean and contaminated water.
  3. After washing each panel, rub the mitt across the grid surface to release dirt, which settles below the grid.
  4. Avoid submerging the mitt below the Grit Guard so contaminants remain trapped at the bottom.
  5. Rinse the Grit Guard with clean water after each wash session.
