An adapter that allows rotary polisher backing plates to be mounted on dual-action polishers accepting a 5/16-inch spindle thread. This makes it possible to reuse existing rotary backing plates on a dual-action machine, expanding compatibility across plate sizes from 1 to 10 inches.
